Questions people actually ask
Process & documents
Can I send a photo from my phone instead of a scan?
Yes, as long as it's legible. Keep the whole page in frame, in focus, without heavy shadows. PDF, JPG, PNG and DOCX all work through the quote form.
Do you need the original document?
Not for the translation itself. A scan or a photo is enough. The original usually becomes necessary if the document needs an apostille or legalisation, since the institution typically wants to see the actual document, not a copy.
Can you translate into two languages at once?
Yes. Just list both languages in your enquiry. Each translation is priced separately, at the rate for its language.
How long does a translation actually take?
A standard document usually takes 1–2 working days. Larger texts get their own timeline in the quote, since it depends on the page count.
Certification & legalisation
Why don't you stamp the translation yourselves?
Because we don't hold an MFA contract ourselves, and that specific contract is what lets a translator's signature count as official for legalisation or apostille purposes. For those cases we work through a partner who holds one, and the official certification is theirs.
What's the difference between apostille and legalisation?
An apostille is a single certification, recognised by every country in the Hague Convention. Legalisation is a longer chain of certifications for countries outside it. Our guide goes through it in full.
What if the institution rejects the translation?
If the problem is with the translation itself, we'll fix it. We can't promise that a given institution, embassy or employer will accept it, though. Their acceptance criteria are theirs to set. If you're not sure what's required, ask the receiving side before you order.
Do you handle the apostille or legalisation yourselves, or just the translation?
Both can go through us. We translate the document and coordinate the apostille or legalisation through our partner: submission, paying the state fee on your behalf, collection. The apostille or legalisation itself is issued by the institution, which also sets the state fee.

Prices & payment
How is the price calculated?
By the standard page: 1,800 characters including spaces, counted in the translated text. The price depends on the language and on whether the text is general or specialised (legal, technical, medical, financial). The full table is on our prices page.
Do I pay before or after the work is done?
Translation-only orders are paid on delivery. If the order includes legalisation or an apostille, the state fee and our handling fee are paid upfront, because the institutions require payment at submission. For orders over €150, we ask for a 50% advance.
Is there a rush option, and what does it cost?
Yes. Next-working-day turnaround adds 50% to the price. Same-day turnaround adds 100%. The exact amount depends on the volume of text and is confirmed in the quote.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes, €15 per order. That applies even to a very short, half-page document.

Your data & files
Is my passport or ID scan safe with you?
The file you upload through the form is deleted from our server as soon as the email carrying it is sent. After that it exists only in our mailbox. If the enquiry doesn't turn into an order, we delete it 30 days after our last contact with you. For a completed order, we keep it 30 days after delivering the translation, in case you need a correction, and then it's deleted too.
What actually happens to the file after I send it?
It goes straight to our mailbox and disappears from the server the moment the email is sent. Only we see it, plus the partner who carries out the official translation, or a notary, if the order requires it. It isn't used for anything else.
What if I just send a message through the contact form, without a document?
Contact-form messages that don't lead to an order are deleted after 6 months. Invoices and accounting records are kept for 10 years, as the law requires, but they hold no document content, just payment details.
